A father-of-two created a superhero mural on his son's bedroom wall for just £20 after he was furloughed from his painting job following the coronavirus lockdown.

Mother Kirsty Jones, 26, from Swansea, Wales, revealed how her three-year-old son Harvey had begged his father Christopher, 29, to transform his bedroom wall with his favourite comic characters.

And after Christopher was furloughed from his role as an automotive painter, he finally had the time to create a masterpiece for Harvey.

The incredibly detailed mural shows the worlds of Marvel and DC Comics collide with Harvey's favourite characters including Hulk, Superman, Batman and Spiderman.

And the talented painter composed the design from his own imagination to make them appear as if they are breaking away from a city skyline into Harvey's bedroom.

Community care assistant Kirsty revealed how Christopher had some paints in his toolbox so only bought primary colours costing £20 which he mixed to create specific tones for the characters.

Kirsty, who is also mother to eight-month-old Archie, posted the finished design on the DIY On A Budget UK Facebook group with the post receiving more than 20,000 likes.

She told FEMAIL: 'The wall took around 30 hours to do, which Christopher did over the space of a week.

'Harvey was his dad's little helper while he was painting the wall. He was Christopher's biggest critic and told him what he had missed and what to do next.'

And Kirsty revealed how Harvey was left 'speechless' with his father's painting skills and said: 'Wow, daddy you are the best!'

She added: 'Christopher has always been into drawing from a young age and he has always enjoyed it.

'Over the years he has got better and taught himself how to use an airbrush.'

Speaking about how Christopher created the design, she said: 'He searched the characters on Google and copied them free hand by just looking at the image.

'They where all individual images so Chris has put the wall together with imagination.'

'Harvey is always with him watching him draw and had been nagging Christopher to do his bedroom wall for a while.

'Christopher has had more free time after being furloughed during the coronavirus lockdown meaning he finally had the chance to do it for Harvey.

'He had some paints but it cost an additional £20 for primary colours which he then mixed to make the colours of the characters.'

Posting on the DIY Facebook group, Kirsty wrote: 'Thank you everyone for the lovely comments - overwhelmed by them all!

'Christopher has a full time job and this is a hobby he does on the weekends and after work sometimes.

'No, the wall is not curved or bevelled out, it is the way the photo has been taken with the panorama setting. Due to the wall being big, it couldn't all fit in one picture.
