A family dog's ran into a two-year-old boy, knocking him over and his eggs out of his basket. 

The boy Owen was running excitedly towards a pink egg on the grass when the family's Chesapeake Bay retriever collided with him.  

Owen, who will be three on Saturday, was knocked clean off his feet and all his eggs flew out of his basket as he fell to the floor.

His father Joshua Nachtigall posted the footage on Instagram and it was shared on Twitter where it has had more than 3.5 million views. 

It happened on Easter Sunday morning and is thought to have been in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.  

He said Owen is fine and got up to continue finding eggs 30 seconds later. He added: 'He even thinks the video is hilarious.'  

As Owen gets closer to the pink egg, Bridger starts running towards him. Owen is knocked clean off his feet as Bridger makes contact with him 

Before he reaches the pink egg the dog runs into him. He drops the basket of eggs and they spill over the grass

The woman in the video says 'oh boy, jesus. Jesus' as the dog runs head first into Owen's side. 

One Twitter user said: 'Looks like a clean tackle to me, fumble by the running back recovered by the opposing team. First down'

Another added: 'This is what 2020 feels like.'  

On Facebook, Kurt Kruegel said: 'He may go third in the upcoming virtual NFL draft. That hit was professional.'
