If you could run one of the all-time classic Aston Martins, would it be electric?
Lunaz, the UK electric car conversion specialist backed by David Beckham, has today revealed its latest run of limited edition classic EVs - converted Aston Martin DB6s.
It will take a small selection of original cars, recondition them and then switch out the rumbling four-litre straight-six petrol engine for a battery and electric motors offering a zero-emission range of 255 miles.
It's the latest in a line of high-end classic conversions offered by the exclusive EV firm and each will be priced 'in excess of £1million'.

Electrified classic: British firm Lunaz has confirmed it will convert a small selection of Aston Martin DB6 to electric power with each re-conditioned zero-emission example priced in excess of £1million

The brand, which is based in Silverstone, was founded in 2018 and has set out to extend the legacies of the most beautiful cars in history via electrification, having already turned its hand to Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Range Rover and Jaguar sportscar models.
Lunaz says only the 'most beautiful, rare and significant' motors are considered for their specialist treatment, with the Aston Martin DB6 easily making the cut.
'There is no purer or striking evocation of the British Gran Turismo,' it said about the British icon, which was originally produced between 1965 and 1970.

HOW THIS IS MONEY CAN HELP
'The introduction of electric Aston Martin DB6 cars has been driven by sustained demand from our existing clients. It also reflects the desires of an entirely new classic car buyer,' adds David Lorenz, its founder and CEO.
'These women and men have been drawn to Lunaz because for the first time they are presented with the powertrain and modern conveniences of today, clothed in a design that speaks of an era when aesthetic purity was the only requirement.'

Lunaz will take a small selection of original Aston Martin DB6s, recondition them and then switch out the rumbling four-litre straight-six petrol engine for a battery and electric motors offering a zero-emission range of 255 miles

Each car will be powered by Lunaz’ proprietary modular electric powertrain that has been developed entirely in-house with a power output of up to 120kWh

The £1million-plus price tag shouldn't come as much surprise, given that only 1,788 DB6s were built at Aston Martin's Newport Pagnell factory between 1965 and 1970 - and prime examples of original cars easily sell for six-figure fees at motor auctions
The electric DB6 will be available in tiny numbers in both left and right-hand drive, with each costing mroe than £1million plus taxes.
That shouldn't come as much surprise, given that only 1,788 DB6s were built at Aston Martin's Newport Pagnell factory and prime examples easily demand six-figure fees at motor auctions today.
First deliveries of the Lunaz electric DB6 are scheduled for the summer of 2023 and customers will be selected by application only.
Each will undergo an 'exhaustive bare-metal restoration and re-engineering process' to repurpose it into a plug-in vehicle with zero tailpipe emissions, which can be driven daily, if the owner so chooses.
Upgrades will be made to the brakes, suspension and steering while interior comfort and convenience is brought up to modern standards with the addition of air conditioning and 'sensitive integration' of infotainment systems, including sat-nav and full Wi-Fi connectivity.

The conversion process takes place at the Lunaz factory in Silverstone, which has been electrifying classic Rolls-Royces, Aston Martins and Land Rovers since 2018
Each car will be powered by Lunaz’ proprietary modular electric powertrain that has been developed entirely in-house with a power output of up to 120kWh.
The range is said to be up to 255 miles with CCS fast-charging capability, so batteries can be replenished rapidly.
The DB6 is the first new model announced to the Lunaz line-up since former England captain David Beckham became an investor in the business in June.
Speaking about the Aston Martin conversion, Beckham said: 'As an investor in Lunaz and a huge car enthusiast I’m delighted to see this new development which completes the company’s line up of British auto icons.
'I’m proud to be involved with a talented team that is leading the field in creating sustainable solutions.'
Lunaz already has a highly limited number of build-slots for Aston Martin DB4 and DB5 cars.

Former England captain David Beckham became a new high profile investor in expanding British electric vehicle company Lunaz in June
